Testing Blockquotes

Below is a sample blockquote:

"It's a cartoon ... and that's why we've got the First Amendment," Obama said. "And I think the American people are probably spending a little more time worrying about what's happening with the banking system and the housing market and what's happening in Iraq and Afghanistan, than a cartoon. So I haven't spent a lot of time thinking about it.

Day 2 - National Taiwan U, Hot Pot & Camera Shopping

Saturday August 11th.

Met our friend Sophia at National Taiwan University, the top university in Taiwan that Jessica's brother Calvin graduated from. It built by the Japanese in 1928 during the occupation. See Wikipedia for more info.

We took quick tour of the school history museum and took pictures, primarily of the more Japanese styled architecture. See pictures.

There is a large sports arena next to the NTU with a crowds of youth in line, circling the building. Found out it was a Japanese comic book (Manga) convention. We noticed many in customs, depicting their favorite characters. See pictures.

Day 1 - Teipei 101 Tower

Around 11 AM went to top of the Taipei 101 (台北101) skyscraper . It is the tallest buildings in Asia and currently the world's tallest inhabited building at 509.2 m (1,671 ft).

The elevator that took us to the observatory at top is the fastest in the world, 1010 meters per minute, and you hardly felt it.

Also at the top is a huge Tuned Mass Damper "ball" made of metal which shifts during a typhoon or earthquake to counteract building sway.

It was a bit rainy and overcast so the view wasn't fair.
